What is a community green?

Community greens are shared parks on the inside of blocks, collectively owned by the by the neighbors whose homes, yards, decks, and patios enclose the green. Distinct from community gardens, residents’ homes abut the shared space, they contribute their property to it, and jointly maintain it.
