Baltimore's
First Ever Green Alley Tour
April, 27th 2008
Noon - 3 pm
This is an exciting time for the
city of
Baltimore.
Residents now have the option to gate and green the alleyways behind their
homes, creating unique spaces that reflect the visions and needs of residents
on each block! The residents of four different green alleys want to share their
stories with you. They want you to know how they were able to create these
special spaces and tell you about how these green alleys have helped build
strong communities, increase safety, and improve the environment. Come join us!
Kickoff: 2600 block of

Noon with Councilman Kraft!
Tours 12 - 3 pm

The Luzerne/Glover alley off of

Park
served as
Baltimore
City's alley gating and
greening pilot project. Residents worked with the city to gate and beautify
their alley, thus improving safety, decreasing illegal dumping, and creating a
unique space for block residents to come together. The Luzerne/Glover alley
tour helps residents understand the alley gating and greening process and how
they can transform their own alleys from grey to green! Meet Councilman Kraft
and enjoy the party!

the alley green process; this process includes organizing residents, gaining
city approval, and transforming the alley from grey to green.
Together we can make these
