Neighborhood Leadership Training

In August 2009, ACG started the Neighborhood Leadership Training in the city of Baltimore. The training is open to any interested individual. Participants in the training learn how to become effective community organizers. They learn about the various personality types of individuals and how to improve on their own interpersonal skills to be able to garner support and to also build a strong team of neighbors.

The aim of training is to empower people to build and foster community. This acquired skill also helps them to handle the Alley gating and greening application more effectively.

The training features community leaders who share their experiences, positive and negative, through which the people can learn. Thus the training also becomes a stepping stone for creating a network of leaders who have a lot to benefit from each other. In order to sustain this kind of learning - based mostly on on-the-ground experience.
